Welcome to "1 Band - 2 Photos - 3 Questions", our brand new interview series! For the second edition, we’re featuring TTSSFU who we discovered at the Manchester Psych Fest. Based in Manchester, Tasmin (aka TTSSFU) has just released "Me, Jed and Andy", and is preparing for a headline tour you shouldn't miss. In this interview, she talks about her approach to photoshoots, performing at legendary venues, and the backstage antics with her band.

Keep reading & listen to "Me, Jed and Andy" if that is you:

Probably some geezer from Wigan who's pushing 50 and still wants to be Adam ant or Gary human and treats himself to a Chinese takeaway every friday while drowning themself in lots of beer and when it gets to 12 at night starts cracking out the old vinyls to a solo disco, might even pop on the strobe lights who knows and a fog machine?

Not a press shot, however I really like this photo of the boys.

TTSSFU by Nicole Osrin

One of my favorite photos of me performing is one Nicole Osrin took of me performing at the Scala in London when supporting Mannequin Pussy, for me and the band that was such a bucket list moment considering the legendary statues of the place and it was our first big tour with a band we all love so we kinda felt out of place the whole tour and uncool? (Mannequin Pussy are super cool people) and I remember personally that day being all over the place and feeling shy and unprepared as that was also the day I was signing a new record deal to a label I've loved for years, so as you can imagine there was alot of emotions going on before the show but as soon as me and the Boys got on stage we was Fien and it felt so good to play to that many people , I think in the photo you can tell that im like what the fuck thats 600 people hahahah, captured a good day.

3 Questions

HOW DO YOU APPROACH PHOTO SHOOTS AND DO YOU ENJOY THE PROCESS?

No I don't really like photo shoots I find myself really awkward , I kinda wish I could do everything myself because I know how I want to be perceived but it seems I just can't control my body or face very well when not infront of a mirror, photo shoots and music videos make me wanna die low-key.

To tackle this I try and work with friends who will laugh with me.

WHAT CAN PHOTOGRAPHERS EXPECT WHEN THEY ACCOMPANY YOU BACKSTAGE AT A GIG OR ON TOUR?

Expect to see me, Mathew, Paddy and Reuben probably talking about a band that really like or me saying how a band they like is dog shit, or eating a meal deal or me asking them if they think the situation would be better or worse if a celebrity walked in the room right now?

WHAT KIND OF PHOTO WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE TAKEN OF YOURSELF?

I hope one day someone takes a picture of me and I've some how morphed into Julian Casablancas or one of the twins from The Garden because that would be fantastic but im unsure thats gonna happen any time soon.

Hooked? Then check out TTSSFU's recommendations:

Dog Race are probably one of the most refreshing new bands I've heard, they do everything I like about music and also the performance factor of it is incredible, I'm a big fan of the movie "Possession" and the vibe is kinda like that movie I think its sick.

Videographers I'd have to say my good pal Seth Lloyd, we've worked together recently for a video alongside a team of other creators Callum Brady, Sam Bosworth, Tom Abbott for editing, but Seth has crafted his work for a while now and got a great portfolio of his work so check him out, easy going guy too and fun to work with, will defo be working with him again in the future and hopefully the other dudes will be there too.
